Safety is the highest priority at Naples Airport, and every person on the airfield plays an important role in maintaining a safe operating environment. That is why the Naples Airport Authority implemented a formal Safety Management System (SMS) in 2021.
An SMS is a comprehensive, organization-wide approach to identifying hazards, managing safety risks, and evaluating the effectiveness of safety controls. Rather than simply reacting to incidents after they occur, SMS promotes a proactive culture focused on continuous improvement. Each year, the Airport Authority establishes safety objectives that emphasize hazard identification, risk management, and operational excellence.
Unlike traditional safety programs, SMS is process driven, data informed, scalable, customizable, and proactive. It encourages employees and tenants to report hazards and near misses before they result in an incident.
Collecting and analyzing safety data is essential to making informed decisions. That is why Safety Hazard Reporting is a cornerstone of Naples Airport’s Safety Management System.
Safety Hazard Reporting
The Naples Airport Authority maintains a confidential Safety Hazard Reporting Program that allows employees and tenants to report:
- Safety hazards
- Near-miss events
- Unsafe conditions
- Suggestions for safety improvements
Reports can be submitted quickly by scanning the QR code on the back of your airport ID badge. Every report is reviewed by the Airport Authority’s Safety Action Team, which evaluates the information, identifies trends, and recommends corrective actions when appropriate. Providing as much detail as possible helps the Safety Action Team evaluate the report and determine appropriate corrective actions.
How to Submit a Report
Simply scan the QR code on your airport ID badge to access the Safety Hazard Form.
You may report anonymously, but the Safety Action Team encourages you to include your contact information so we can ask follow-up questions, share the outcome of your report, and involve you in the solution.
Report Immediate Safety Concerns
If you observe a situation that presents an immediate threat to safety, or witness an unsafe act, illness, or suspected impairment, contact Airport Operations immediately rather than submitting a Safety Hazard Form.
