Taxiway connecter A-2 closure
Taxiway connecter A-2 will be closed from Sunday, May 14th beginning at 10 PM through Friday, May 19th at 6 AM.
During this time, Runway 05/23 will be open during the daytime hours, but closed at night between 10 PM and 6 AM. Taxiway A will be open during daytime hours, but will be closed from A-2 to the approach end of Runway 05 between 10 PM and 6 AM.
Participants will react to the simulated incident in the same manner as if the scenario was real. Participants do not know the details of the simulation until the exercise begins to fully utilize and test the Mass Casualty Incident Standard Operating Guidelines in determining resource needs and performing appropriate notifications for an airplane-related incident. The Press Observation Area will be located at the end of Corporate Flight Drive, Naples, Florida. The exercise begins promptly at 10:00 AM and will conclude by approximately at 11:00 AM.
This closure is related to the ongoing drainage project currently underway to improve safety on Runway 5-23. Â
As a reminder, Runway 5-23 will be closed overnight from Sunday-Thursday (into Friday morning) through October 2023, between 10 pm and 6 am. The runway will be open for full use during all other hours. Taxiway A will continue to experience phased closures throughout the duration of the project and we will provide further updates as each section of the taxiway is impacted.
Runway 14-32 will remain open for use during construction.Â
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as the NAA continues to invest in its airfield infrastructure and safety.
