Remembering Dr. Ahmet Gursoy, Our Friend in Flight
The NAA Board of Commissioners and staff are saddened by the recent passing of Dr. Ahmet Gursoy, who served as an FAA-certified Aviation Medical Examiner, with an office located at Naples Airport for the past 21 years.
Dr. Gursoy was a friend to so many in our local aviation community. He welcomed new pilots and ensured that veteran pilots remained safe to fly.
“For more than two decades, Dr. Gursoy was a friendly and approachable presence at the Naples Airport, who was always willing to help anyone and even provide medical assistance in times of need,” said Chris Rozansky, Executive Director of the Naples Airport Authority. “We send our condolences to Ahmet’s family during this difficult time.”
It was a privilege to have Dr. Gursoy, who was also a respected cardiologist in Collier County, based at Naples Airport for more than two decades. He operated Med-Fly at the NAA, and later transitioned his business to The Aviators’ Clinic, now operated by Dr. Dylan Caldwell.
The NAA thanks Dr. Gursoy for his contributions to the Naples Airport, and our pilots. We are forever grateful to him for his service.
