Get to Know Our Partners: Gordon River Greenway
The Naples Airport has been a proud partner of the Gordon River Greenway since 1989. This collaboration is rooted in a shared commitment to preserving the natural beauty along the Gordon River in one of the last undeveloped areas of urban Naples.
When Collier County completed the construction of the Greenway, a 140-acre ecological corridor in the heart of Naples, the NAA built perimeter pathways at the airport that connect to the Greenway, the airport observation deck, and Baker Park. Approximately 4,900 feet of the Greenway path in the west quad, along with an additional 11,500 feet of connecting path along North Road and Airport Road is on airport property. We also undertook significant efforts to remove exotic vegetation, restore pathways, and rejuvenate a pond near North Road.
The Gordon River Greenway was designed to accommodate individuals and families interested in various recreational activities, including walking, hiking, jogging, cycling, and skateboarding. Every day, countless residents and visitors enjoy the convenience of paved pathways, picnic shelters, and wildlife viewing stations. Miles of winding trails, boardwalks, and bridges connect Golden Gate Parkway to the heart of downtown Naples, including 4 miles at the Naples Airport.
