Naples Airport taxiways closed as planned construction continues
The NAA is implementing planned improvements to the drainage system for Runway 5-23. Over the summer, improvements will involve temporary and phased closures to Taxiway A, which runs parallel to Runway 5-23, to facilitate the construction.
- As of July 1, Taxiway A from Taxiway A4 to the approach end of Runway 23 is closed 24 hours per day.
- Beginning mid–late August, Taxiway A from the intersection of Taxiway B to the approach end of Runway 23 will be closed 24 hours per day.
- As part of this project, Taxiway A6 has been permanently removed.
The NAA expects to complete the drainage improvement project in late September 2021, at which time affected taxiways will be reopened. Construction is scheduled for the summer months, when aircraft operations are lower, to minimize impacts to our customers. We recognize that the temporary Taxiway A closures may result in longer taxi times for aircraft landing on Runway 5, and appreciate your understanding and patience as the NAA continues to invest in its airfield infrastructure.
