Visitors to Naples Airport’s popular Observation Deck will notice a refreshed look following a seasonal refresh completed in March 2026. Located at 1825 North Road, the Observation Deck improvement work by St. Lazarus Painting has further enhanced the visitor experience for aviation enthusiasts.
Built in 2012, the Observation Deck is a raised, wheelchair-accessible platform with seating that allows spectators to watch airplanes arrive and depart. Located near the approach of Runway 5 off North Road, the area also features speakers that broadcast live chatter from the air traffic control tower at Naples Airport, accompanied by restroom facilities.
Recent site enhancements include restoration, pressure washing, minor structural repairs, restrooms improvements and refreshed stain on deck surfaces. Additionally, crews repainted the interior and exterior of restrooms, while new mulch and minor landscaping improvements helped the project take root for the next year.
According to Naples Airport Authority’s Executive Director, Chris Rozansky, the project timeline was shortened to reopen the deck sooner for visitors and seasonal residents.
“We initially anticipated a three-week closure, but renovation teams expedited updates because the area is so popular this time of year with visitors and seasonal residents,” said Chris. “It’s a great place to sip your coffee or eat lunch while watching planes come and go.”
Later in 2026, Naples Airport expects to finalize designs for a reimaged visitor experience at the Observation Deck that includes permanent, ADA-compliant covered seating along with a playground, fitness area, restrooms and static model aircraft. Permitting and construction are anticipated in 2027.
No local taxpayer dollars support improvements to the Observation Deck. Naples Airport is funded entirely through fuel sales, hangar rentals and other related services.
