Naples Airport Joins Paradise Coast Trail Community Celebration
— Family-Friendly Event Previews a Healthier Lifestyle for Naples Residents —
The Naples Airport was a proud sponsor of the Paradise Coast Trail Community Celebration held at Baker Park on February 5. The beautiful spring afternoon provided ideal conditions for the Naples Pathways Coalition to update the community on the progress of the Paradise Coast Trail project.
Airport staff handed out Valentine’s Day–themed treats to an estimated 200-300 attendees attending the free, family-friendly event that featured activities including a bike safety rodeo, splash pad, park setting and games. In keeping with the fitness and recreation theme of the event, three lucky attendees won Fitbits donated by the Naples Airport Authority.
The 70-mile Paradise Coast Trail will connect Naples to Bonita Springs, Collier Seminole State Park, Ave Maria and other areas within and beyond Collier County. Portions of the trail already exist on airport property and connect to the Gordon River Greenway. Once completed, it is expected to enhance quality of life and contribute to healthier lifestyles, yield economic benefits to the county, increase property values and enable greater safety for walkers, runners, recreational and commuter bicyclists.
