NAA Board and NCC Meeting Recap
On March 21st, the Naples Airport Authority Board of Commissioners held its March Regular Board Meeting. Watch the meeting here or read a recap of the meeting’s highlights below.
- Flight Procedure Update: Hughes Aerospace provided an update on the flight procedure design project.
- Board Update: Noise Compatibility Committee (NCC) Chair Richard Krawczun was reappointed for another four-year term on the NCC.
- Fuel Farm Update: Hanson Professional Services provided an update on the Fuel Farm Improvements Project.
- FAQs: NAA staff provided an updated list of FAQ’s in response to common misconceptions that have been raise publicly.
On February 29th, the Noise Compatibility Committee conducted their first meeting of 2024. A video of the meeting can be viewed here. Below is a summary of highlights from that meeting.
- Portable Noise Monitor Deployment: Zachary Burch, Senior Communications Manager, shared data from the recent deployments of the NAA’s portable noise monitors. These deployments help track aircraft-related noise and differentiate it from other community noise in surrounding areas.
- Staff Update: Robin King, Director of Communication, provided updates on various initiatives, including the Part 150 Noise Study; flight procedure design; the Fly Safe, Fly Quiet Leaderboard program; draft pilot training videos; jet run-up areas; and electric GSE.
- Update on FAA Reauthorization: Michael Arnold from Environmental Science Associates (ESA) gave an update on the status of FAA reauthorization, highlighting proposed noise-related provisions in current drafts.
