Meet the Board: Michael Lenhard
The NAA’s Board of Commissioners is pleased to introduce you to Commissioner Michael Lenhard. A Naples resident since 2012, Lenhard was appointed to the Naples Airport Authority Board of Commissioners in 2017 and has served on the board for over 5 years. The Board of Commissioners is comprised of five members, each appointed to a 4-year term by the Naples City Council to govern the NAA, set policy and strategic direction.
Commissioner Lenhard has served as the Chairman of the Board, as the committee chair for the Consultant Selection Committee, and as a member of the Audit Committee. During his time on the Board, Lenhard has helped drive the adoption of a new IT consulting firm whose work has greatly improved the security and efficiency of NAA systems.
“Working as a bridge between the aviation community and residents is one my most important jobs as a Commissioner,” explained Lenhard, “Along with providing a safe and efficient airport for our tenants and users, working with the public is the best way to ensure that the airport remains a thriving community asset for years to come.”
Lenhard enjoys his work on the Board and praises the collaboration of the Board and NAA staff in achieving significant milestones at the airport. Commissioner Lenhard’s proudest moment while serving on the board was the opening of the new Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) station. The new ARFF is a state-of-the-art facility that provides fire rescue services and safety to the Naples Airport and the surrounding community. As he continues serving on the Board, Commissioner Lenhard looks forward to the completion of the Part 150 study and working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to address community concerns.
Prior to his appointment in 2017, Michael served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Aqualane Shores Association Board of Directors. Holding a private pilot’s license, Lenhard also previously served as Treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic Pilots Association. He also has more than two decades of experience in the records and information management industry, serving as President and CEO of National Records Centers, Inc. in Dallas, Texas before retiring.
