May 2024 Meetings Recap
On May 16th, the Naples Airport Authority Board of Commissioners held its regular Board Meeting. Watch the meeting here or read a recap of the meeting’s highlights below.
- Airport Exploratory Study Update: Environmental Science Associates (ESA) gave a presentation on the draft findings of the study, with a draft report scheduled to be provided to the NAA Board over the summer. Public meetings are anticipated at a future date.
- Airport Carbon Accreditation Program: The NAA is pursuing the Airports Council International’s Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Level 1 certification. ESA provided a presentation about the ACA program to assist the NAA in achieving certification.
- Fly Safe, Fly Quiet (FSFQ) Leaderboard Update: The second quarter of the FSFQ Leaderboard is underway, April 1 – June 30, 2024. Additional metrics are being considered to further narrow and recognize the top operators.
On May 2nd, the Noise Compatibility Committee conducted their second meeting of the year. A video of the meeting can be viewed here. Below is a summary of highlights from that meeting.
- Online Noise Comment Form: Environmental Science Associates gave a presentation on the NAA’s noise comment form, during which they recommended utilizing the EnviroSuite system for more efficient comment management.
- FAA Noise Abatement Entries into the Chart Supplement: A presentation was held to discuss the FAA seeking feedback on the best way to include Noise Abatement Information (NAI) into the Chart Supplements.
- FAA Noise Policy Review Update: The FAA is currently reviewing the comments submitted for their Noise Policy Review update. After the comment review, they anticipate issuing a notice in the Federal Register announcing any revisions to their policy.
