Lesley Mahoney Named as Employee of the Quarter for the Naples Airport Authority
— Recognized at Board of Commissioners Meeting —
It didn’t take long for the Naples Airport Authority employee Lesley Mahoney’s skills and talents to be recognized. Hired in August 2020 to support the Human Resources (HR) team in a temporary role, Lesley was chosen to fill a permanent HR Generalist position two months later. Her star continues to rise as she was recognized as the airport’s Employee of the Quarter at the NAA’s Board of Commissioners monthly meeting on October 21.
Lesley quickly understood the Naples Airport’s vision for the HR department, which prioritizes welcoming new employees and enhancing the experience for existing team members. “Lesley’s Employee of the Quarter recognition stems from her initiative and tenacity in assisting hiring managers with performing reference checks for candidates,” said Virginia Bendle, who knows a thing or two about hiring in her role as director of human resources for the NAA.
“She performed over 100 checks, calling at least three references for each potential new hire, having in depth conversations with each of them, and reporting her findings to the hiring managers, many times in as little as two days,” Bendle continued.
Lesley is also being recognized for her passion for the NAA’s Purpose, Vision and Values, as she takes ownership in helping each employee understand their importance within the bigger team perspective. She has planned new-hire orientations and employee recognition events, answers employees’ benefits-related questions, and provides outstanding and professional customer service to everyone she connects with.
Congratulations, Lesley, on this important recognition during your short time at the Naples Airport. We are lucky to have you on our team!
