Hurricane Ian Community Efforts
The ongoing recovery from Hurricane Ian would not have been possible without the help of several organizations that helped reopen the airport, delivered donations and supplies, transported volunteers, and evacuated residents through the Naples Airport.
The Naples Airport Authority would like to express its gratitude to Sky Hope Disaster Relief Program, Flying Classroom, Elite Jets, St. Matthew’s House, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, Operation Airdrop Disaster Relief, Wings of Rescue, Cajun Navy, Quality Enterprises, Entech, Hansen Professional Services, The Naples Air Traffic Control Tower, Collier County EMS MedFlight, Florida Wing Civil Air Patrol, and Harry Chapin Food Bank of South Florida for their assistance in supporting Naples and Collier County through this recovery effort.
Operation Airdrop and the Cajun Navy collected thousands of pounds of food, water, cleaning supplies and toiletries for the people of Pine Island.
Our staff was able to make substantial donations to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Inc. and St. Matthew’s House, Inc. thanks to the donations of countless airport tenants and customers.
PALS Sky Hope helped evacuate a local veteran whose house was badly damaged by Hurricane Ian. He and his wife are now safe with family in Pennsylvania.
Wings of Rescue and Race for Life Rescue helped evacuate over 500 dogs and cats from the Humane Society Naples.
