New General Aviation License Plate Now

Exciting news for our general aviation community! The new “Support General Aviation” specialty license plate for Florida is now available for pre-order. This initiative, driven by local pilots and supported by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), offers a unique opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to show their passion and support the future of flying in our state.
Here are the key details:
- Pre-sales began on October 1, 2024, and are currently ongoing.
- The plate costs $33 and can be pre-ordered through your local tax collector’s office or by visiting your county DMV office. The specialty license plate is titled General Aviation [code B8R].
- A minimum of 3,000 plates must be pre-sold within two years before production can begin.
- The plate will fund aviation education scholarships for Florida residents through the Aerospace Center for Excellence in Lakeland.
By displaying this plate on your vehicle, you’ll be able to showcase your love for aviation while contributing to the growth of our pilot population. It’s an excellent way to recognize the vital role general aviation plays in Florida’s economy and communities.
