East Quad Apron Repaving and Hangar Door Replacement – Update
— Project is back on schedule after threat of tropical storm —
Mother Nature occasionally makes her presence known when we’re busy making plans. This was the case the week of August 9 when the threat of Tropical Storm Fred required the NAA to temporarily delay beginning the East Quad apron repaving project. The good news is that the project is back on track and remains on schedule.
Phase 1 of apron repaving is complete. Phase 2, adjacent to the Naples Executive Condominium Hangars, has begun with expected completion on September 10. The remaining phases and dates through October 2021 are shown in the image below. Tenants are advised that hangar doors may be opened during apron repaving and it is possible that construction dust may enter the hangars. Any belongings left inside should be covered. All dates noted are subject to change.
The hangar door replacement portion of this project is expected to begin in October, with work starting on Hangars 2405 – 2407. Door replacement for Hangars 2202 – 2203 and Hangars 2301 – 2305 will follow. These hangar tenants are required to remove aircraft and relocate or remove contents as hangars cannot be secured during construction. NAA staff will work with these tenants to find space to relocate their aircraft. Replacing each hangar door is expected to take up to 7 days.
The ponding that is currently occurring near the 2600 hangars will also be remedied by new drains being installed as part of this project. Naples Aviation (FBO) staff is available to help anyone who needs assistance in accessing their hangar or aircraft as a result of standing water.
