Community Engagement Highlights in September 2024

Biz Kids USA Program
On September 14th, a group of young entrepreneurs and their parents who participate in the Biz Kids USA program, met in the Elite Jets hangar. The charter company’s staff shared the story of their entrepreneurial beginnings. Robin King, NAA Director of Communications, also spoke with the group about the important role the Naples Airport plays and shared examples of entrepreneurial, ancillary services at the airport.

International Coastal Cleanup Day
On September 21st, NAA staff volunteered in International Coastal Cleanup Day by removing trash from the beach around the Naples Pier. The annual event, part of Ocean Conservancy, helps ensure that our world-famous beaches remain pristine.

Girls in Aviation Day
More than 60 Girl Scouts attended a first-ever “Fun Badge” event at the NAA on September 21st in recognition of Girls in Aviation Day. They toured the airport, learned how to do a preflight inspection on an aircraft, and they practiced the signals used to marshal an aircraft. Completing the activities not only fostered an interest in aviation, the participants earned the NAA’s new fun badge.
