BTS of the Latest FOD Walk
The Naples Airport hosted its latest Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walk on Monday, May 23rd. Around 70 participants made up of Civil Air Patrol Cadets, Naples Air Center flight students, tenants, and airport employees joined the NAA to walk Runway 5.
This voluntary walk allows participants to see the airport up close while enhancing public safety. FOD remains a safety hazard for airports around the world and can ultimately impact safe operations by damaging aircrafts.
Unfortunately, this week’s walk ended a third of the way through due to an unexpected thunderstorm, however, the NAA looks forward to another walk later in the year. Information will be sent out in advance for anyone who wants to participate.
