Reminder: Operations After ATC Closure

Regular hours of operation for the Airport Traffic Control (ATC) tower at the Naples Airport are 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. As a reminder, when operating at airports without operating control towers, it’s important to remain vigilant for other aircraft, especially when in the traffic pattern. While it’s not required to communicate intentions via two-way radios, it’s highly recommended to help minimize potential hazards or incursions.

According to Advisory Circular 90-66B:
“Pilots should be aware that procedures at airports without operating control towers generally do not require the use of two-way radios; therefore, pilots should be especially vigilant for other aircraft while operating in the traffic pattern.”

For inbound aircraft without radio communications capabilities, determine the runway in use by observing landing direction indicators, wind indicators, landing and departing traffic, or by referring to relevant airport publications.
