Diving Into Dumpster Do’s and Don’ts
— Keeping the Airfield Clean and Debris-Free
is Everyone’s Responsibility —
The NAA offers dumpster enclosure areas on the airfield for our tenants’ convenience. Keeping these trash disposal areas clean and accessible for all is important to maintain a FOD- and wildlife-free environment, and a safe airport operation. Tenants are asked to be mindful of these guidelines when disposing of items in the dumpsters.
WHAT CAN GO IN
- General trash
- Food scraps and containers
- Cardboard boxes (flattened)
WHAT CAN’T GO IN*
- Oversized items such as furniture, appliances and pallets
- Hazardous materials (fuel, oil and toxic and corrosive items)
- Electronic and medical waste
- Tires (vehicle and aircraft)
- Paints and lacquers
- Batteries
KEEP LIDS AND GATES CLOSED
Close dumpster lids, secure gates and keep enclosures orderly at all times to discourage birds and other wildlife which are attracted to trash and debris.
LET US KNOW Â
Overflowing dumpsters or those with lids that won’t close and enclosure areas that are not accessible due to oversized or inappropriate items should be reported to the Airport Facilities Office at 239-643-0733.
*Dispose of these types of items at the appropriate recycle locations.
