All Naples Municipal Airport tenants that require unescorted access to the Air Operations Area (AOA) must undergo a Security Threat Assessment (STA) in order to obtain an Airport ID. The STA is a check conducted by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) of databases relevant to confirming that an individual does not pose a security threat.
Prior to gaining access to the AOA, tenants must complete the Airport ID/Gate Access Application and submit it to the Security Department (SD), along with the acceptable documents listed in "Attachment B" of the application. The SD will take the applicant's photo and process the application through the TSA website. It typically takes about seven (7) days for a response regarding the STA.
Once the applicant has passed the STA, in accordance with 49 CFR 1542.209, the applicant has 30-days to obtain their identification media from the SD.
